Description
The use of EPS as a lightweight fill material in civil engineering is referred to as Geofoam.
Compared to traditional fill materials, its most notable technical advantages are its light weight, high strength-to-density ratio, easy moldability, dimensional stability, low water absorption rate, and rapid application capability. It is used in road construction, bridge approaches, slopes, and loose soil areas.
It is also used in landscaping applications to create fills and mounds.
